Installation before class
Week 1: Laser cutting
- Install Autodesk Fusion (3D modeling software): apply for an Education License and install.
- After installation, open Fusion and you should see:

- Bring a computer mouse.
Week 2: 3D printing
- Install Ultimaker Cura (3D printing slicer).
- Open Cura, add a local printer Ultimaker 3S.
Week 8: Multitouch
1. Install software:
- Install Arduino IDE (recommend using Legacy IDE 1.8.9, you can also install 1.8.9 alongside the latest version)
- Install Processing.
2. Install Arduino Libraries:
- Download this repo rakechen-0307/MultiTouchKit as a ZIP.
- Open Arduino IDE and install library:

- Open Library Manager (It might take a while to load) to install another library:

- Install library ADCTouch:

3. Install Processing Libraries:
- Download this repo HCI-Lab-Saarland/MultiTouchKitUI as a ZIP.
- Unzip and place the folder into Processing Libraries directory (these might differ depending on your installation, open Processing, on menu bar, Files > Preferences, check Sketchbook folder)
- Windows:
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Documents\Processing\libraries - Mac:
~/Documents/Processing/Libraries
- Windows:
- Unzip and place the folder into Processing Libraries directory (these might differ depending on your installation, open Processing, on menu bar, Files > Preferences, check Sketchbook folder)
- Open Processing, install more libraries:

- Find the following libraries and install:
- BlobDetection
- OpenCV for Processing
4. Bring a USB adaptor if your laptop doesn’t have a USB type-A port.
Week 9: Multitouch II
Install Brother Cutter SDX1200 software
- Install CanvasWorkspace.
- You need to create an account to use it. After logged in, you shoud see:
